S/S 1996 Gold 'Lesage' Quilted Pantsuit with Gripoix Belt

[RARE] S/S 1996 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld gold 'Lesage' quilted pantsuit with Gripoix belt. Extremely rare metallic bronze-gold brocade mock neck long sleeve jacket and pant suit set, complete with matching belt from runway styling. Jacket features slightly padded shoulders and Gripoix four buttons at the cuff, at the pockets, and at front: created by Maison Lesage. Pairs with high-rise trousers with concealed side zip closure and single 'CC" logo Gripoix button and darting at waist. Both pieces feature raised multicolor rhinestone embellishments throughout. Fabric Contents: 52% Wool, 40% Polyester and 8% Rayon blend, with 95% Silk and 5% Spandex interior lining ('CC' logo pattern lining). Belt has gold-plated base with multicolor ornate Gripoix glass gemstone design (rich yellow, purple, green, blue and red coloration).
As seen on the runway; featured in the ad campaign on Stella Tenant (photographed by Karl Lagerfeld); worn by Linda Evangelista; featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Set is in excellent vintage condition, with very light wear throughout.
