S/S 1977 Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche black velvet lace-up velvet corset and silk taffeta skirt set. Sleeveless black corset top with fitted waist and lace-up front; laces are braided with tassel ends. Pairs with silk taffeta skirt with gathered ruffle detailing at mid-thigh and at lower back skirting, featuring moderate train when worn. Skirt has concealed side zip and hook closures, with built-in belt loops. Fabric Contents (Skirt): 100% Silk. Top feels like 100% Cotton velvet. A highly documented set, as seen in the ad campaign and with similar featured on the runway. Top and skirt are both in very good vintage condition with light wear throughout.
Measurements
Top is marked size FR 38. Skirt is marked size FR 36. Top best fits size US 0 - 6; skirt best fits size US 4. Skirt is clipped very slightly on size US 2 - 4 mannequin.
