Valentino
S/S 2000 Black Strapless Gown with Open Bust
More Information
S/S 2000 Valentino black strapless gown with open bust. Strapless gown with open bust paneling and open center drape wrap front. Built-in corset with boning at sides. Concealed side zip closure. Fully lined with black lining. Fabric contents unmarked; feels like silk crepe material with no stretch. Re-edition of original A/W 1965 silhouette featured in Valentino's Roman atelier in 1965 (photographed by Angelo Frontoni), seen in original sketches, and modeled by Veruschka in Vogue. Clearly one of his favorite designs as he brought it back for his S/S 2000 Haute Couture season. Worn by Elizabeth Hurley to the CFDA Awards in 2000. In very good vintage condition with light wear throughout back; has been taken to professional couture cleaner and arrives ready to wear.
