S/S 1994 Azzedine Alaïa deep brown 'Houpette' above-knee long sleeve turtleneck dress. Turtleneck long sleeve dress with Azzedine Alaïa's soft, 'Houpette' (puffball) fabrication on upper portion and hemline, contrasting with bodycon stretch knit skirting. Concealed back zip closure. Fabric Contents: 45% Wool, 35% Rayon, 18% Nylon and 2% Spandex blend (moderate stretch throughout).

Inspired by couturier Charles James' "La Sirène" dress, Azzedine Alaïa created this innovative dress that is revolutionary in its sculptural approach to the female form: a true piece of wearable art. Soft nylon 'houpette' material was designed specifically for the Azzedine Alaïa maison. 'Houpette' in French refers to a small puff - the culmination of which is a wearable 'puffball' in a uniquely form-fitting silhouette. A sought-after piece of fashion history in very good vintage condition with light wear throughout.
